I agree with most of the budget cuts, yet I feel that some of the cuts made in the "Education, Training, Employment, and Social Services" portion could have been avoided. Good justification for the other decisions, nonetheless.

In the Recommendation of Focus Group #4A, the article on the kids of obesity (example article, video, etc) directly exemplified the impact of their budget cuts by reducing programs to help overwieght children get in better shape and condition. (gerand: verb +ing)This was a good example because children are the main value of the future. Kids need to become healthy in our society to create healthy offsprings. If this is not dealt with immediately than it will get out of control.

The comment posted by tamara4, that commented on how kid obesity is a major problem, is accurate because children are our future, and we must take care of the present children in order to insure a bright, safe, and innovative future. Even though we cut 5% from that section, there are many ways to keep children fit without federal funding.

b. In the Recommendation of Focus Group 4a, the budget cuts of the pie chart, said that we are spending most of our money on military costs and we really shoud be spending them on other things that we really need. Instead, the Focus Group should have looked for an example such as what we really need to spend our money on and how we can use it for things that we need.

The comment posted by mthourson, that commented on how we didn't really give examples on how we need to spend our money, is inaccurate because we are trying to save money, not cut from one area and spend it on other things. The whole point of the budget cut is to try and get out of debt. When somebody wants to get out of credit card debt, they don't cut their spending on one thing just to take that money and spend it on something else; they try to stop spending as much as they can, or all together.

In the Recommendation of Focus Group 2C, the justification made for cutting Elementary and Secondary Schools wasn't clear. Instead, the group should have looked for an example in which they proved "they don't necessary have to gain and education before they do go to 'regular' school."
Everything else looked good, though. (:
